As part of Manchester Airport’s £1.3 billion redevelopment, nearly a dozen airlines, including Jet2.com, Lufthansa, and Vueling, are set to move terminals later this year. The terminal changes are a key part of the airport’s transformation project, which is expected to be completed in 2025.
The terminal moves will begin in late October 2024, with Lufthansa, Swiss, and Austrian Airlines moving to Terminal 2 on October 27, 2024, followed by TAP Air Portugal on October 30, 2024. Other airlines, such as Biman Bangladesh, will transfer on November 5, 2024, with Jet2.com scheduled to move to Terminal 2 on November 6, 2024.
Additional moves will occur throughout November, with Iberia Express and Vueling relocating on November 7, 2024, Egyptair and SunExpress on November 12, 2024, and Royal Jordanian on November 13, 2024. The airport has assured passengers that affected airlines have already contacted customers regarding the changes.
The airport has also noted that, in some instances, passengers may arrive at a different terminal from the one they originally departed from. Passengers should be aware that Terminal 2 is approximately a 15 to 20-minute walk from car parks serving Terminals 1 and 3, with clear signage provided.
Other airlines will also be making the move to Terminal 2 at later dates, and passengers will be informed by the airlines as necessary.
Timeline of Terminal Moves:
• October 27, 2024: Lufthansa, Swiss, Austrian Airlines move to Terminal 2
• October 30, 2024: TAP Air Portugal relocates to Terminal 2

The terminal switch is a significant part of Manchester Airport’s broader modernisation efforts, which aim to enhance passenger experience and expand airport capacity.
