Incident Summary

LATAM Airlines flight LA-3319, operated by an Airbus A321-200N (PS-LBJ), was departing Fortaleza-Pinto Martins International Airport (FOR) on runway 13 bound for São Paulo Guarulhos International Airport (GRU) when the aircraft suffered a bird strike shortly after takeoff.

The crew stopped the climb at FL060 (6,000 feet) and elected to return to Fortaleza as a precaution. The aircraft landed safely on runway 13 approximately 35 minutes after departure.

Sequence of Events
